Police may be looking for same suspect in two Rockford robberies

ROCKFORD — The Rockford Police Department is investigating whether the same suspect robbed two local businesses.

The first robbery happened at Aldi on East State Street last Wednesday, when a suspect police say is a white man, about 6 feet tall in his 30s, entered the store, implied he had a gun, and made off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Saturday afternoon, April 10, a man with a similar description entered the Cricket Mobile Store at 2410 S. Alpine Road, told a clerk he was armed and fled with money he removed from the cash register.

The suspect had a tattoo on is left hand and was wearing glasses.

Police say a man who robbed a Rockford Cricket store Saturday has a similar description as the suspect who committed the same offense at the East State Street Aldi last week. (ROCKFORD POLICE)
