Police searching for suspects in two robberies

ROCKFORD – The Rockford Police Department is still searching for suspects in two robberies.

On Tuesday, Aug. 28, at approximately 7 p.m., officers responded to a robbery at Jasmine’s Pantry, in the 2600 block of Kilburn Avenue and determined a suspect entered the business
and battered the female clerk.

The victim was knocked unconscious, and the suspect took some of her belongings. The suspect is described as a black male between 18 and 25, about 5-8 with a thin build. He was lastseen where a stocking hat, black pants, white shoes and grey “IHSA State Finals” wrestling hoodie with “Baker 80” printed on the back.

Surveillance photos of the suspect are attached. The victim’s injuries are non- life-threatening.

Shortly before 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Rockford Police officers were called to the 2200 block of South 4th Street in reference to an armed robbery. There, officers learned the victims, husband and wife, were in their vehicle outside a home when a SUV pulled in front of them.

Police say two suspects got out, both armed with handguns, and demanded money from the victims. Both suspects then fled in the SUV. The suspects are both described as black males,
about 25 years old. One was last seen wearing a red hoodie, the other was wearing a black hoodie.

The suspect vehicle is described as a brown or gold SUV.
