ROCKFORD – A former Rockford resident was returned to Winnebago from Arkansas last week and charged with four counts of sexual assault.
Andrew Hale, 58, was booked into the Winnebago County Jail Friday, Sept. 7, after being arrested in Springdale, Arkansas. Hale is charged with two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual assault.
Police say the Hale’s arrest stems from an investigation by the Rockford Police Department’s Sensitive Crimes Unit that began in March 2017, when three juveniles told police they were sexually assaulted by a male family member as far back as 1997 when the suspect lived in Rockford.
Hale is being held on a $500,000 bond. He is due in court Oct. 19.
