Rockford Police releases ‘Click It or Ticket’ numbers

ROCKFORD – The Rockford Police Department released numbers from two enforcement campaigns conducted over the Fourth of July weekend.

Officers made two impaired driving arrests, had 14 drivers with suspended/revoked licenses and issued 43 seat belt citations during “Click It or Ticket” and “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” safety campaigns.

Rockford Police joined forces with more than 200 other state and local law enforcement agencies to get drunk and drugged drivers off our roads and encourage seat belt use. The effort featured high-visibility enforcement combined with a variety of outreach activities including a media campaign.

The enforcement period was funded by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation as part of the statewide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Click It or Ticket” programs.
