‘Save Sinnissippi Golf Course’ committee calls news conference

ROCKFORD – The grassroots roots group that helped Rockford Park District keep  Sinnissippi Golf Course open this year will hold a news conference at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday at the clubhouse.

Speakers scheduled to address media are Jim McDowell, a member of Save Sinnissippi’s executive committee; Mike Broski, president, Entre Computer Solutions; Ben Bathje, East High golfer; Chip Block, a member of the Save Sinnissippi Golf Advisory Committee; and Robbin Barr, Save Sinnissippi’s executive committee representative and member of one of the women’s leagues.

Guests of Entre will be participating in a golf playday on the course Wednesday.

The Save Sinnissippi Golf Course committee was organized late last year with the goal of developing a viable plan to achieve financial viability for the historic golf course. The park district was set to close the facility, citing budget constraints.
