Rockford man guilty of sex crime
ROCKFORD – A Rockford man was found guilty of a sex crime Monday after a bench trial in front of Judge Joe McGraw.
Michael Lambert, 27, was found guilty of criminal sexual abuse, a charge that stemmed from a report officers took from a victim on Nov. 18, 2018, at Rockford Police District 1.
During the investigation, Lambert was developed as a suspect and charges were authorized by the Winnebago County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Criminal sexual abuse is a Class 4 felony with a sentencing range of up to 30 months probation or one to three years in prison.
Lambert is due back in court Oct. 5 for sentencing hearing.
