Man indicted for failing to register as sex offender
ROCKFORD — Winnebago County State’s Attorney Marilyn Hite Ross announced Wednesday that a grand jury has returned an indictment against a local man for allegedly failing to register as a sex offender.
On June 25, while performing a compliance check of all registered sex offenders, Rockford Police detectives determined Bryan Deck had not complied with his required annual registration.
Deck, 50, was subsequently charged with failure to register as sex offender, a Class 3 felony punishable by two to five years in the Illinois Department of Corrections followed by a year of mandatory supervised release.
Deck is scheduled to appear in court at 9 a.m., Oct. 8. He’s currently lodged in the Winnebago County Jail. He’s bond is set at $100,000.
