Rockford man charged with murder after body found in Winnebago County

ROCKFORD — A Rockford man has been charged with murder after a body was found in Winnebago County.

Police say around noon, Friday, Sept. 11, county deputies were called to the 3400 block of Prairie Road, where they found the body of 32-year-old Andrew H. Warren.

According to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office, Warren died from blunt force trauma to the head.

Authorities say 26-year-old Skyler J. Warren was developed as a suspect during the follow-up investigation. He was arrested and jailed on two counts of first-degree murder, concealment of a homicidal death, and aggravated domestic battery.

It has not been reported where Andrew Warren died. If  is determined he was killed in Rockford, it would mark the city’s 20th homicide of the year.

Skyler Warren is currently held without bond at the Winnebago County Jail. He’s scheduled for court Monday.
