Murder warrant issued for Rockford man
ROCKFORD — A murder warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Rockford man in a homicide that occurred last fall at a public housing complex.
Antonio Barfield, 36, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Joseph Cook.
Police say at approximately 11:45 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, Rockford officers responded to the 200 block of Cameron Ave., inside Concord Commons, after receiving a report that multiple shots had been fired. Officers found Cook suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital and died a few days later.
